C&T Celebrates 30 Years and You’re Invited!

Would you like to be a part of quilt history?

C&T Publishing is seeking Amish or Amish-inspired quilt
submissions for our 30th anniversary celebration publication!

Next year will be the 30th anniversary of C&T Publishing’s first published book,

An Amish Adventure by Roberta Horton.

An Amish Adventure by Roberta Horton

It all started with an impulsive promise back in 1983. When quilting teacher Roberta Horton told quilt-shop owner Carolie Hensley that she wanted to write a book on Amish quilts but hadn’t found a publisher yet, Carolie quickly said that she and her husband Tom would publish Roberta’s book. “We knew nothing at all about publishing,” Carolie says now. “I had never even thought about getting into the book business—the words just came out of my mouth!” That spontaneous promise was the start of a 30-year adventure. Fortified by a self-educated crash course in publishing, the Hensleys launched C&T Publishing from their garage with a catalog of exactly one book: Roberta Horton’s An Amish Adventure.

Fast forward to today. An Amish Adventure is still in print–now in its second edition–but so much else has changed. Carolie and Tom Hensley have turned the business over to their sons Todd and Tony, who are assisted by a staff of more than 50 employees. C&T Publishing’s catalog includes more than 400 books and products for fabric artists of all types.

C&T is honoring their anniversary with a celebration of 30 Amish quilts. We are looking for submissions of Amish and Amish-inspired quilts to be included in the 30th anniversary book. If you or someone you know is interested in submitting a quilt for this exciting publication, please visit www.ctpubentry.com for all the details. Submissions will be accepted from August 31st, 2012 through September 30th, 2012.

Quilts of all sizes are welcomed!
