At Home With Modern June Blog Tour and a Giveaway!

Hello! My name is Kelly McCants, aka Modern June. I’m here to introduce my new book, At Home with Modern June! I’m known for working with specialty fabrics such as oilcloth, laminated cotton, and chalk cloth, but I love all fabrics!

Inside At Home with Modern June you’ll find projects using fabrics both old and new, slick and soft, common and specialty. I love to reupholster, remake, repurpose, there are 27 vintage-inspired projects in my book with which you can do just that! I’ve included some no-sew and staple projects for fast and easy DIY fixes. There are also tried-and-true favorites such as quilts, aprons, and shades.

    I want to make a bed for my little Maltese dog. He likes to rest his head on the rim if his bed, but it’s worn out! Need to make a little bed with a head rest. :)

    Thank you for the giveaway. I like the idea of making a quiet book with the chalk cloth. This would keep my boys busy. Or, I would use the chalk cloth to make a banner or a pendant.

    I am going to spend time reworking my wicker rockers, bamboo circle chair and rattan settee on my deck. Also recovering a couple of ice cream chair seats in bright Chevron print. Then making cushions for all that needs them. Last but not least I will be making curtains for my back deck to mimic the old south style to block the western summer sun in the evenings. whew, I hope I can get it all done.

    So nice to see someone show uses for oilcloth. I’ve not been sure how to sew with it, so haven’t tried! Can wait to see more.
