Introducing: For the Love of Hand Stitching with Jan Constantine
I have been a fan of Jan Constantine’s work ever since I first saw her, now iconic, “Love” cushion a few years ago. Jan launched her hand-embroidery business in 2002 after leaving a successful career in fashion design to raise her two daughters in the Cheshire, UK countryside. In just a few years, her business grew from a cottage industry, to an established brand.

Introducing: Little Girls, Big Style
Little Girls, Big Style by Mary Abreu No one can dispute that sewing children’s clothes—especially for girls—is a hot trend at the moment. I was seeing patterns crop up with more and more regularity over the past three or four Quilt Market trade shows. I was still on the fence as to whether we would catch the trend in book form until something fabulous happened: Mary Abreu sent in her book proposal!
Instead of a book filled with random patterns, Mary’s proposal for Little Girls, Big Style was all about building a wardrobe on just four straightforward basics: A bodice, a top, a pair of trousers and a skirt. Really. Just four basic patterns and the rest is all variations and embellishments that encourage you to make endless iterations of the basics. What could be simpler than that?!

Introducing: The Practical Guide to Patchwork
Elizabeth Hartman is the talent behind the prolific and wildly popular blog, Oh, Fransson! For most of those who read her blog, that is probably all the introduction you need. In the 18 months since we started working on this book together, she has grown both her own profile and taken awesome strides in introducing a whole new community of fabric addicts who would probably never have fallen in love with patchwork if it were not for her inspirational designs.

Introducing: Scandinavian Stitches
Who can resist these projects?! Kajsa Wikman is one of the first authors I acquired for our Stash Books list because I had never seen anything similar to her work before. Exploring her blog is like entering another world full of the simple and the honest, yet amazingly colorful and vibrant. She sees the possibilities of a 1” square of fabric that many would toss, but for her, makes the perfect piece for a sweet dress, a balloon, or even a fish!

Introducing: Simplify with Camille Roskelley
Camille is an amazing person. Initially, I was attracted to her fresh quilt designs (who wouldn’t be) with classy color choices. I love that her designs consistently manage to have a playful, yet classic feel to them (you can see all of her individual patterns not included in this book here).
