After working at C&T Publishing for three years and being inspired and amazed by the creativity that seems to float through the air here, I joined 13 other staffers at a quilt class last fall.

Buzzing with anticipation

The Buzz Block #4: Pretty in Pink and Green

Since I had never touched a sewing machine before in my life, I was completely intimidated to sew (especially someone else’s block), but could hardly contain myself at the thought of having my very own quilt!

The Buzz Block #2: Yellows & Greys
Our second Buzz block started in early March, which for us was full of rainy days sprinkled with a few blinks of Spring sunshine. To celebrate the peekaboo weather and my love of changing seasons, I decided to alter one of my favorite quilts in City Quilts by Cherri House. The clean graphic pattern and inventive color play in City Tracks seemed perfect: easy enough to construct, but full of opportunities! Inspired by the wet weather and early Spring flowers, I played with greys and yellows until I came up with just the sort of dappled look I was going for.
